The Taiwanese multinational manufacturer has announced HTC One A9 in September 2015 during the company’s event and would be available from November, 2015. HTC One A9 is thin, light weighted and pocket friendly device as it would easily sit in your pocket. In short time this handset became very poplular as its design is somewhat similar to iphone devices.
Let’s first discuss about the handset’s design, you will fall in love with the design of the handset. HTC One A9’s design is somewhat similar to iPhone devices. It seems like a mid range phone. You will get power button and volume keys at the right side of the handset. On the front panel there is one selfie camera placed beside the front speakers. On the front panel there is only one home button. Metal is used for the construction of the handset.
Both ports, headphone port and charging port are placed on the bottom side of the handset. Mainly I dislike this feature. In my opinion your headphone port should always be on the top side of the handset, it is only convenient option for all smartphones. Except this one, the handset is pretty good at designing portion.
Talking about display, the HTC One A9 offers a 5 inch Full HD AMOLED touch screen display giving resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels with 441 PPI per pixel. For the protection of the handset’s display the company offers Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 prevents the display from being broken or from all kind of external environment. Basically, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is made in such a way in which it gives protection two times better than competitive glass designs. So, now you don’t need to worry about screen damage.
At processing front, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor. An octa-core chip is made with four 1.5 GHz cores and four 1.2 GHz cores. The device supports 2 GB of RAM. It also supports Adreno 405 GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). Graphics Processing Unit chipsets are very necessary for today’s smartphones.
In terms of memory storage, the device packs 32 GB of internal storage. The device has one microSD, or microSDHC, or microSDXC card slot through which you can expand your device’s memory up to 2 TB means up to 200 GB. 200 GB is very huge storage, and that’s more than enough for any smartphone.
As far as camera is concerned, I must say that the smartphone manufacturers are focusing more and more on the camera portion of the handset and also provides best picture quality where now you don’t need to purchase digital cameras. The device has 13 mega pixel real camera with a dual-tone LED flash and the 4 mega pixel front facing camera. The main camera features optical image stabilisation (OIS), an aperture of f/2.0 and the ability to shoot in RAW format. HTC One A9 has ability of hyperlapse video which can be applied to any video in your library. The real camera supports features such as HDR, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and panorama. It also supports video recording at 1080p@30fps. The selfie camera supports the same video recording capacity. Like other smartphones this camera doesn’t support 4K video recording. Shooting modes on the camera supports Burst mode, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), Panorama, and RAW image capture.
The HTC One A9 is a single SIM (GSM) smartphone that accepts a Nano-SIM. The sound system supports 3.5 mm Jack with Dolby Audio Technology. The HTC One A9 runs Android 6.0 operating system with HTC and is powered by a 2150 mAh non removable battery. The battery offers stand by time in 3G up to 432 hours (18 days). Stand by time for music playback is 60 hours and stand by time for video payback is 12 hours.
It measures 145.75 x 70.80 x 7.26 mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 143.00 grams.
Connectivity options includes- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi direct, DLNA GPS, hotspot, Bluetooth, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone includes Fingerprint sensor, gyro sensor, proximity sensor, compass sensor, Ambient light sensor, and Accelerometer. For browsing there are two in built applications Youtube and google+.
One only drawback of the handset i can show and that is its non removable battery. If in any case you will find any problem with battery then you would not be able to remove or replace it. All the latest smartphones are coming with the non removable battery and that would come in the drawback category of the smartphone.
The handset supports Fingerprint Sensor which would unlock the handset by just tapping on it. But as per its name the fingerprint sensor works on the fingerprint. It will unlock the handset if and only if it gets the matching fingerprint.
