This is the story of the heroic act of the crew members who were involved to rescue the lives of other crew members. In the early winter days on 18th February, 1950 New England was strucked by the most brutal nor’easters in years. While the storm raged, the two oil tankers SS Pendleton and SS Fort Mercer found themselves into the midst of the furious sea.
Built with the steel that was not prepared to withstand such ferocious sea, both the oil tanker splitted into two parts, leaving the lives of dozens of humans in danger. The Finest Hours is thus the gripping story of the valiant attempt to rescue the souls of persons, huddling inside the broken values of two ships. This is the story of those four Coast Guards who gave a new life to all those crew members who became the victim of the tragedy.
